Is a colonic painful?
Not at all. A professional colon therapist is skilled at putting you at ease and minimizing discomfort. Furthermore, most people enjoy its immediate rewards
and are especially pleased with the sensation of feeling lighter, cleaner, clearer and free of toxins.
What do I need to do before a colonic?
Since your abdomen will be massaged, it is a good idea to NOT to eat an hour and a half immediately preceding a colonic.
How many colonics do I need?
The number of treatments will always vary with the individual and his/her diet, stress level, health and age. Often the waste is so hard and so impacted in the colon that it may take a series of
colonics to sufficiently soften and loosen it.
The suggested series would be two colonics per week for eight weeks. As the colon is cleansed, and as dietary, supplements and stress reducing suggestions are implemented, your gut's wisdom will guide you for follow up
colonics. Recommended times for future colonics would be: if symptoms begin to re-occur, at the change of seasons when diet and exercise patterns often change, and during the cold and flu season. It is recommended to have
colonics before, during and after the Gut Wisdom™ Detox to hasten the removal of toxic waste and minimize cleansing reactions.
Are there any side effects to colonics?
Most likely, you'll feel great after a colonic. Some others may experience bowel movements for a few hours, usually without urgency or discomfort. These symptoms pass quickly and these clients soon realize a feeling of well-being.
Most individuals become acutely aware of the cause and effects of the food they eat. This is now a great time to be aware and implement gut supportive food choices.
Can one become dependent on colon therapy?
No, the treatments help tone the colon muscles so that they perform more effectively.
The buildup of toxic debris weakens the colon and impairs functioning. The gentle filling and emptying of the colon improves the peristaltic activity (muscular contractions) by which the colon naturally moves material. Once the colon walls have been toned, strengthened, and rejuvenated, the colon's ability to move wastes is enhanced.
Will colonics damage the normal intestinal flora?
If your bowel is toxic as in cases of constipation, chronic gas, bloat and/or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it is most likely that you do not have sufficient "good bacteria". Replenishing the bowel by oral supplementation of acidophilus and bifidus is always recommended following the colonic. Cleansing the colon will help bring the acid-alkaline ratio back into balance so that beneficial bacteria will thrive and disease-causing bacteria will find it difficult to grow.
How does a colonic affect my emotions?
The solar plexus is the emotional center of the body and the Transverse colon passes right through it. If an emotional event is left unprocessed, often physical tension may occur and can be stored in the solar plexus. This muscle tension can result in constipation and other eliminative problems. Not only do
colonics help to alleviate constipation, they can assist you in recognizing and releasing the stored emotions contributing to the problem, thereby, bringing awareness and healing to your gut, mind and spirit.
